Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Not all National Trust properties are open yet, and those that are require pre-booking via their website, no later than 15:00 on the day prior to visit.

If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for professional advice.

Lavenham Guildhall

Lavenham was once one of the wealthiest places in the country. Its famous blue cloth was exported across Europe and beyond. The village today is famed for its wealth of surviving timber-framed buildings, which make it one of the best-preserved medieval villages in England. One of the finest of these buildings is our Guildhall of Corpus Christi. Inside, you can follow the changing fortunes of Lavenham''s cloth industry, local families, as well as its farming heritage and agricultural roots. Before exploring the streets of this unique village, which have changed little in five centuries, make sure you have a browse in our gift shop and enjoy a homemade cake in our pretty beamed tea-room.
