Whilst our volunteer editors will do their best to ensure our events listings are as up to date and accurate as possible; with the fast pace of how things are changing, it is inevitable that some will slip through the net. If you are planning on travelling for larger events, we would recommend that you contact the venues directly to avoid disappointment. We are putting in place new measures to give event organisers a friendly reminder to see if they wish to remove cancelled events, so we're sorry if it looks a bit bare in here :(

If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for free, professional advice.

Events this Month

Stonham Barns Sunday Car Boot on 13th September 2026, 13th September 2026, 7:00 to 13:00 at Stonham Car Boot, Pettaugh Road, Stonham Aspal (17.6 miles)

Stonham Barns Sunday Car Boot 13th September 2026

Great weather eventually last Sunday after 2 spells of unexpected rain. 130 odd sellers and a good buying crowd.

Weather looking good all week and I expect it will be fine on Sunday. Expecting another good turn out and lots of buyers as usual. We then have the start of 4 in a row shows on at the same time as the Car Boot. That’s from the 20th September till 11th October 2026. May I suggest anyone that wants a covered stall during that time texts me. Everyone else just turn up on the day as no booking is needed.

Covered stalls are available for every Sunday and include a guaranteed main field pitch near the toilets and food area. You can park directly behind your stall. They're popular and handy when shade is needed. To book, text 07817 539168. Everyone else just turn up on the day no booking needed. The cost is £13 for covered stalls and that includes your vehicle behind them.

Covered stalls do go quite quickly especially when it’s warm.

I keep getting asked when you can turn up to sell and buy. Gates open at 5.30am but most people turn up 7 onwards. The choice is yours. There is space for everyone. This year I expect the last Car Boot to be the last Sunday in October.

Coming Up - Shows too
• 20th September -American Car Show
• 27th September -Swedefest
• 4th October -Land Rover Show
• 11th October - Barnfest 26 Country Music Festival

These events run alongside the Car Boot, bringing even bigger crowds.

Local Clubs

Bounceability meet at 157 Colchester Road, Colchester Road, West Bergholt, Colchester (8.9 miles)
Bounceability is something we are born with. Think about a child learning to walk. No matter how many times they might stumble and fall, they get right back up again and try again until they get it right. The trouble is that as we grow up our view of the world is shaped and fashioned by our experiences, and sometimes we become fearful of trying again. We get stuck into negative patterns of behaviour and ways of thinking and sometimes just don't know how to change. Have you got stuck or just forgotten how to be happy? Have you given up trying? Maybe you could use some Bounceability.
So whether you feel as if you are in a rut but can't figure out how to get out of it; if you have made bad choices and are struggling with the consequences of your decisions; if you have a bad habit that you want to eliminate; if you want to lose weight or stop smoking; if your nerves are getting the better of you or if something outside your control has had an impact on your life, or whatever is stopping you from living the life of your dreams, you need some Bounceability.
